Silent Auction

SILENT AUCTION PROCEDURES AND SCHEDULE - 2018 NMRA CONVENTION, KANSAS CITY

Silent auctions are auctions held without an auctioneer. People place their bids on Chit sheets that contain a description of the item, sellers number, and initial bid.  To bid a person adds their bid and number.  The winning bidder is the last one listed on the chit.  At the end of the bidding bid sheets and items are sorted by number and the winning bids are added to our computer data base.  The winners are listed on Thursday morning (by number) and will be able to pick up their winning items, and items not sold) after settling their account.  If the winning person also had items in the auction that sold the settlement will include items sold and purchased to figure out the amount owed or the amount we need to pay them.

Any items sold items are subject to a charge of 15% commission.  The items will be placed on tables with a letter designation so that if you want to track your bidding you can note the item number and table letter.

The silent auction will be held in the ________ at the Convention Hotel.

We will have a “Buy it Now” table for items that the Seller wants to sell at their price.  The table will have separate tickets and will be handled by a cashier that will accept cash or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal).

We will have a traditional Silent Auction with a minimum Starting Bid of $4.00 and incremental bids of dollar amounts (no change).

If you have small or low cost items package them up to be sold using the above parameters  (No $1.00 packages).
